I can’t remember the last time the top 5 singles all stayed in the same place as they did the previous week but that is what has happened this week.

This of course means Ellie Goulding with, Love Me Like You Do, keeps the top spot for a 4th week. In the whole of 2015 so far there have only been 2 different Number 1’s. Hozier with ‘Take Me to Church’ keeps the Number 2 spot in what is now its 31st week on the chart. Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars with ‘Uptown Funk’ stays at Number 3, last week it became only the 158th UK single since the charts inception in 1952 to surpass 1000000 sales. We may be in the 7th week of the New Year but in music chart terms things are only just beginning to settle down into a normal routine.
