The lyrics of La Mer talk about the sea which greatly differ from the English lyrics(Beyond The Sea) written by Jack Laurence who wrote his version as a romantic love song. The most famous recording is sung by Bobby Darin who took the song to Number 8 in the UK in 1959.
‘La mer qu’on voit danser le long des golfes clairs a des reflets d’argent.’
