Blueberry Hill was written in 1940,with music by Vincent Rose and lyrics from Larry Stock and Al Lewis.It was recorded six times that year by the some of the best known orchestras of the period including Glen Miller and Sammy Kaye.
In 1949 Louis Armstrong took his version to Number 29 on Billboard and it was his recording that gave Fats Domino the inspiration for his version.
Fats Domino(February 26,1928-October 24,2017) was one of the pioneers of Rock ‘N’ Roll,he has sold in the region of 65 million records,his 1949 song ‘The Fat Man'(see best songs 617) is widely regarded as the first million selling Rock ‘N’ Roll record.
