For the 1st time in 17 weeks a song has managed to hold on to the top spot for a 2nd week that honour belongs to Ella Henderson with her debut single ‘Ghost’.

There are 5 new entries with the highest entering at Number 2.

Back with their 2nd hit and following on from the March Number 1 ‘She Looks So Perfect’, 5 Seconds of Summer are a new entry at Number 2 with ‘Don’t Stop’.

It‘s always welcome to see new talent and music of different genres on the chart and the new entry at Number 4 gives us both. George Ezra is 21 years old and comes from Hertford, his music is described as Folk, Blues and Rock. He cites his major influences as Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie, the single is called ‘Budapest’ and his debut Album due on June 30th is called ‘Wanted on Voyage’.

The other top 10 new entry is at Number 7 for North London electronic duo Gorgon City with ‘Here for You’.  They had a Number 4 hit earlier on this year with ‘Ready for Your Love’.

American singer Demi Lovato charts for the 5th time in the UK with ‘Neon Lights’, her most successful single to date was ‘Heart Attack’ which peaked at Number 3 last year.

Finally The Kooks released their 4th Album ‘Listen’ last month and the 2nd single release from it called ‘Around Town’ is new in at Number 35.

This week there are 7 new entries and 3 re-entries on the Chart.

 It is now almost a given that there is a new song at Number 1 every week and that has happened again.

The biggest selling song this week is from Ella Henderson with her debut single ‘Ghost’. Henderson was knocked out early in the X-Factor finals of 2012 after being in a sing off with eventual winner James  Arthur. She went on to sign with Sony records and her Album is due  out in the Autumn ,the song ‘Ghost’ is co-written by her and Ryan Tedder of One Republic.

Ed Sheeran’s single ‘Sing’ drops down1 place to Number 2.

 New in at Number 3 is Dutch producer Tiesto with ‘Wasted’, this is his 2nd hit this year following on from ‘Red Lights’. The song features vocals from Matthew Koma who has now charted 3 times in 2014 as a featured artist.

The Little Mix song ‘Salute’ is finally catching the public’s imagination now in its 7th week in the top 100 it climbs 18 places to Number 6.

There are 3 football themed songs on the chart this week, one is the new entry at Number 7 for Rik Mayell with ‘Noble England’. Mayell died on June 9th and his fan base have been buying the track to get him into the top 10, the song was originally  released for the world cup of 2010.As part of the Young Ones Mayell spent 3 weeks at Number 1 back in 1986 with ‘Living Doll’.

Joseph Junior Adenuga better known by his stage name of Skepta is back in the top 40 for the 7th time with ‘Thats Not Me’, he has had one more chart success back in 2012 as featured artist on the Wiley Number 3 single ‘Can You Hear Me’.

An old favourite is back with us at Number 27 ‘Three Lions’ from David Baddiel , Frank Skinner and the Lightning Seeds re-enters  the top 40 for the 6th time, it was originally Number 1 back in 1996, a re-recorded version with different words was Number 1 in 1998.

The official song for the FIFA 2014 World Cup from Pitbull featuring Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte called ‘We Are One’ is new in at Number 29.

 One place lower at Number 30 is Raleigh Ritchie with ‘Stronger Than Ever’, he is better known for his acting, playing the role of ‘Grey Worm ‘in the ‘Game of Thrones’ TV series, his real name is Jacob Anderson.

 Finally new in at Number 36 is Lil Wayne ft Drake with ‘Believe Me’, this is the lead single from his upcoming 11th Album ‘The Carter v’.

For an unprecedented 16th consecutive week there is a change at the top of the chart.

This week’s recipient is 23 year old Halifax born singer Ed Sheeran who achieves his 1st Number 1 with ‘Sing’. This is his 9th solo hit and including guest appearances and as featured artist his 14th. His 2nd Album will be released in 2 weeks.

In total there are 6 new songs on the chart, new in at Number 16 is the Neon Brotherhood with ‘Hope Aint a Bad Thing’, this is a charity single released in aid of Stephen Sutton who died of cancer at the age of 19 on May 14th. The Neon Brotherhood consists of 40 musicians from 10 different bands and 8 soloists including Stephen himself.

The other new song to peak inside the top 20 is from Lethal Bizzle ft Cherri Voncelle with ‘The Drop’ , he had his 1st hit in 2002 with the Number 7 single ‘Oi’ and since then he has now charted a further 7 times.

Originating from Leicester rock band Kasabian are back at Number 22 with ‘Eez Ah’, it’s the 1st track from there soon to be released 5th Album ‘48.13’ ,the single gives them there 13th top 40 single.

 The 5th new song on the chart this week is from drum and bass producer Wilkinson ,Mark Wilkinson comes from London and charts for the 2nd time, his previous success came last year with the Number 8 single ‘Afterglow’.

The final new entry is at Number 37 for R3hab with ‘Revolution’ , R3hab is  Dutch dance music producer Fadil El Ghoul, he has remixed many artists including Beyonce and Yoko Ono and this is his 1st charting song under his own name .

This week there are 7 new entries and it’s no surprise to see yet again a new song at the top of the chart and also no surprise to see its house music.

The accolade for best seller this week goes to Second City which is the pseudonym for Chicago born British based producer Rowan Harrington, the song samples the Toni Braxton 1996 Billboard Number 1 ‘Your Makin me High’.

The 2nd highest new entry is at Number 3 for Klingande with ‘Jubel’, The French duo were in the UK top 10 last year with a different version of this song and due to several remixes it has now re-entered.

There are a total of 3 new songs in the top 10 with Ellie Goulding charting at Number 9 with ‘Beating Heart’, this song is taken from the soundtrack to the new film ‘Divergent’ and plays over the closing credits.

Twin Atlantic are an Alternative Rock band from Glasgow who have slowly been building a reputation over the last 7 years, they have finally made a breakthrough this week with their 12th single called ‘Heart and Soul’ which  entered  at Number 17.

The latest offering from Lana Del Rey is new in at Number 21, the track is called ‘West Coast’, it is her 8th UK  hit single and is the 1st song to be taken from her upcoming 3rd Album ‘Ultraviolence’ .

The 4th single release from One Directions latest Album ‘Midnight Memories’ is the ballad ‘You and I’  and this song enters the chart at Number 21, it did actually peak at 19 last December on downloads alone but this is its official release with remixes.

The final new entry is at Number 30 for boy band M.A.D  with ‘Shotgun’ ,this is their 3rd top 40 single and their most successful so far.
