One charity song makes way for another as Gareth Malone’s All Star Choir with ‘Wake Me Up’ makes way for Band Aid 30 with ‘Do They Know Its Christmas’. This is the 4th incarnation of the song, it originally topped the chart and was the Christmas Number 1 in 1984. The song was the Christmas Number 1 for a 3rd time in 2004, this time to benefit Sudans troubled Darfur region, it became the biggest selling song of that year. This new version with some different lyrics recorded under the name of Band Aid 30 is to raise money, with all contributions going towards battling the Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa.
