This week we welcome the 25th different Number 1 of the year so far.
The new chart topper is the song ‘Am I Wrong’ from Norwegian based duo Nico and Vinz, the song has already been a worldwide hit peaking at Number 4 in America , Number 2 in Australia, Number 1 in Canada and also has made the top 40 in 18 other countries to date. Nico and Vinz are Nico Seraba and Vincent Dery who formed in 2009 using the name Envy but when’ Am I Wrong’ became a hit they changed their name so as not to cause confusion with the Japanese group also known as Envy.
Last week’s Number 1 single ‘Rude’ by Magic slips down one place to Number 2 and the 2nd highest new entry is at Number 3 for One Republic with ‘Love Runs Out’. In 2013 One Republic released their 3rd studio Album called ‘Native’ which has spurned 5 hit singles to date with ‘Love Runs Out’ being the 5th , the Album includes last year’s Number 1 ‘Counting Stars’.
New in at Number 34 is 29 year old Londoner Jessie Ware with ‘Tough Love’, this is her 1st top 40 single and the song is the title track of her upcoming 2nd Album. Her sister Hannah is a film and television actress and her father is Panorama reporter John Ware who is also a journalist for The Guardian.
The final new entry is at Number 40 for Maroon 5 with It ‘Was Always You’, the track is taken from their 5th Album ‘V’.
