The music was written by Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala who collaborate together as Camelphat.The lyrics are written and sung by Alexander Kotz,known professionally as Elderbrook.
There is controversy surrounding the lyrics,with some people interpreting the song as being about a female who has had her drink spiked,but Elderbrook says it is about a girl who has too many drinks before going out for the night.

Rogers would perform the song in a jovial manner and the crowd would often clap and sing along,so to some it was seen as disrespectful to veterans.Rogers said ‘We are there primarily to entertain,if we can entertain by providing thought provoking songs,then that’s all to the good.’Incidentally ‘Ruby’ wasn’t written about the Vietnam War,it was in fact written about the Korean War.

At a cost of $3 million the video was filmed around and on the roof of the World Trade Center. The band received a letter from the World Trade Center the day before the Twin Towers were destroyed,thanking them for featuring the towers in the video.

The song was written in 1952 by Chilton Price(December 25,1913-January 14,2010,) Redd Stewart and Pee Wee King.
In a 2002 interview Price claimed that Stewart and King had no part in writing the song.Billy Stewart,who is the son of Redd refutes the claim saying that Stewart and King revised the lyrics and improved the melody.
Jo Stafford(November 12,1917-July 16,2008) was born in California and recorded from the 1930’s until the 1980’s.Between 1944-1959 she achieved 85 Album and single entry’s on the Billboard Hot 100 singles and 200 Album charts.

The song was co-written by Tinie Tempah(see also best songs 883) and the songs producer Labyrinth.
Tempah explained ‘We tried out many different things by going in the studio and having fun.The drum and bass mix was a trialled and tested method.Once we put it in there everyone went crazy,the song is about getting so out of it that you pass out.’
