John Lester Nash was born in Houston,Texas in 1940 and recorded his debut Album in 1958.
In 1965 he co-founded the ‘Joda’ record label in New York,his most successful signing at that time being the Pop group The Cowsills.
In 1968 he recorded several hits in Jamaica,becoming one of the first non-Jamaican singers to record Reggae music in Kingston,Jamaica.
He was introduced to a local struggling vocal group,Bob Marley and the Wailing Wailers who he signed to his record label.
Nash had his biggest success in the UK in 1975 when ‘Tears On My Pillow’ spent one week at Number 1.
