They have already topped the chart in America and now they have done it also in the UK, the brand new Number 1 single is ‘Rude’ by Magic. This is the debut song released by the Canadian band who climb from last week’s Number 2, in fact they exchange places with Cheryl Coles ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ which was last week’s Number 1.

The highest of 5 new entries this week is at Number 3 for ZHU with the track ‘Faded’. Little is known of ZHU as the artist is keen on keeping their identity a secret for the moment at least stating that they want to let the music do the talking. The song is electro dance based, the previous release from this artist was a cover of the outkast song ‘Ms Jackson’.

New in at Number 5 is ‘Hopeful’ from Bars and Melody, they took part in the 8^th series of Britians got talent in 2014 eventually finishing 3^rd they were signed by Simon Cowell to his Syco label in a reported 500,000 record deal. The song ‘Hopeful’ is based around the 2005 song by rapper Twista called ‘Hope’, the song is a protest against bullying. The 2 members of Bars and Melody are 15 year old Charlie Lenehan and 13 year old Leondre Devries who becomes the youngest person to have a top 40 single so far this year.

The other top 10 entry is at Number 10 for Melissa Steel ft Popcaan with ‘Kisses for Breakfast’. Melissa Steel is from Bradford and recorded the video for the song in Jamaica along with local artist dancehall DJ Popcaan. This is the 2^nd time Steel has now charted having been the featured artist on the Kove hit ‘Way We Are’ recently.

The endless stream of Dutch dance music producers making hits continues apace with lodewijk fluttert under his recording name of bakermat being the latest his song ‘One Day [Vandaag]’ features samples from the ‘I Have a Dream’ speech by Martin Luther King Jr.

The final new entry is at Number 37 for Vic Mensa with ‘Down on My Luck’, he is a 21 year old rap artist from Chicago Illinois and this is his 1^st solo single, he was previously a member of Indie band Kids These Days who split in 2013.
