In one form or another War have been playing and recording since their formation in 1969.They were originally called Eric Burdon and War as he was part of the group and stayed with them for their first two Albums.War have been the subject of many line-up changes ,leaving member Leroy Jordan as the only original member in the current line-up.Four other members created a new group called the Lowrider Band named after their 1975 song Low Rider.

Be Bop A Lula is considered to be an early example of Rockabilly music.In 1955 in a US naval hospital while recuperating from a motorcycle accident Gene Vincent met Donald Graves who wrote the lyrics to the song,Vincent’s manager Bill Tex bought out Grave’s rights to the song for approximately $50 and had himself credited as the lyric writer.
Gene Vincent died in 1971 at the age of 36.
