The song features drummer Gerry Polci on lead vocals,with Frankie Valli singing the bridge sections and backing vocals and Don Ciccone singing the falsetto part.The songs lyrics were originally set in 1933 with the title ‘December 5th 1933’ and celebrating the repeal of prohibition,but the lyrics were changed at the urging of Frankie Valli to a nostalgic remembrance of a young mans first affair with a woman.
