The Trammps were active from 1972-1992,having been formed in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania,United States.During the lifetime of the group there have been 22 different members,some of whom were also members of the band ‘MFSB’ and played on and produced hits for the legendary ‘Philadelphia Records’ label.
‘Disco Inferno’ was also the title track of The Trammps fourth studio Album released in 1976,it was written by Leroy Green and Ron ‘Have Mercy’ Kersey(1949-2005.)The song was initially a success in the clubs but failed to capture the imagination of the wider public until it was chosen for the ‘Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack'(see also best songs 211,)’the second biggest selling soundtrack Album of all time.
