None of last week’s new releases sold enough to break into the top 3 as last week’s best sellers remain the same. Omi with ‘Cheerleader’ therefore gets a 2nd week at Number 1, once again holding off Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth with ‘See You Again’ and last week’s highest new entry from Carly Rae Jepson with ‘I Really Like You’ stays at Number 3.
On the top 40 this week there are 4 new entries. The highest is at Number 4 for Deep House duo Jacob Manson and Adam Englefield who are collectively better known as Blonde, they originate from Bristol. This new hit is called ‘All Cried Out’ and is their 4th single release. It is the 2nd time they have reached the top 40 as their previous single’ I Loved You’ peaked at Number 7 last year. This current track features vocals from Adam Newell who is one of the stars of the TV programme ‘Glee’, Newell also provides vocals to the current top 20 hit from Clean Bandit on the song ‘Stronger’.
Swedish singer /songwriter Ebba Nilsson better known by her stage name Tove La charts this week at Number 17 with ‘Talking Body’ a song she co-wrote. This is her 2nd UK hit following on from ‘Stay High’ (Number 6) last year, she was also the vocalist on the Alesso hit Heroes (Number 6) earlier on this year. Tove La is a very successful songwriter for other artists most notably as the co writer of the Ellie Goulding Fifty Shades Of Grey song ‘Love Me Like You Do’.
American singer Ariana Grande’s 2nd Album ‘My Everything’ has now produced 4 UK top 40 singles including 2 of last year’s Number 1’s ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘Problem’, the other hit was ‘Break Free’ the current hit charting this week at Number 36 is called ‘One Last Time’ and was co-written and co-produced by David Guetta .
The 4th and final new entry this week is at Number 38 for Fetty Wap with ‘Trap Queen’. Fetty Wap’s real name is Willie Maxwell and he comes from Paterson New Jersey, he is a 24 year old rapper and this is his debut solo single. ‘Trap Queen’ has already been a major success in America peaking at Number 2 on Billboard earlier on this year, being kept off the top spot by Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’.
