In 1998 George Michael(see also best songs 991) was arrested by an undercover police officer in the public lavatory of the Will Rogers Memorial Park in Beverley Hills,California,an incident which led him to declare his homosexuality.
George Michael wrote this song about that incident in a humorous and self deprecating manner which is aided by the official video, with lyrics such as ‘I’d service the community, but I already have you see.’He had been sentenced to 80 hours community service for the offence.
‘Outside’ was the lead single from Michael’s best of compilation Album ‘Ladies and Gentlemen,’ which was a play on words as Ladies and Gentlemen can also refer to public toilets.
‘There’s nothing here but flesh and bone there’s nothing more.nothing more.’
