The song was co-written by Beck, and The Dust Brothers, who are John King, and Michael Simpson. The song references early Hip-Hop, when DJ’s would use two turntables, and a microphone to create the right atmosphere.Beck also reminisces about his early days as a struggling musician,when having to work odd jobs to make ends meet.
