THE 1000 BEST SONGS IN THE WORLD EVER.
135-Led Zeppelin-Whole Lotta Love.
1969-Was not released as a single in the UK until 1997 when it reached Number 21.
Best Bit-At 0.01.A cover version by the band C.C.S.was used for many years for the opening titles to play over the top 40 singles chart rundown for Top of the Pops, which is ironic because Led Zeppelin never released singles in the UK.
A lot of music critics cite this song as the start of ‘Heavy Metal’ music, influencing bands such as Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, some have said that Led Zeppelin were as important to the 1970’s as the Beatles were to the 1960’s.
‘Whole Lotta Love’ started out as a guitar riff written by Jimmy Page and developed by the other band members Robert Plant,John Bonham and John Paul Jones.Lead singer Robert Plant provided the lyrics which were contested in a court case in 1985 by Blues artist Willie Dixon who claimed that parts of his song ‘You Need Love’ recorded by Muddy Waters in 1962 had been used without his consent,Dixon won the case receiving back dated royalties and his name was added to the songs writing credits.
‘You need cooling, baby I’m not fooling,I’m gonna send ya back to schooling.’
PLEASE SHARE IT IS MUCH APPRECIATED.
