THE 1000 BEST SONGS IN THE WORLD EVER.
143-Parliament-Aqua Boogie(A Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadoloop.)
1978-Has never charted in the UK.
Best Bit-At 0.37.If music is a universal language then ‘Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadoloop’ is a bit hard to fathom.
It is actually writer George Clinton’s attempt to create his own ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,’ as heard in ‘Mary Poppins.’
Many people thought that the song was about having a party or dancing underwater,it isn’t. The water imagery is a metaphor for how people had to bend and jump through hoops to deal with life in America at that time.
George Clinton formed two bands simultaneously in the mid 1960’s due to contractual problems with his record label, they were Parliament(see also best songs 612) and the more Rock orientated Funkadelic(see also best songs 340,) their sound was to become known as ‘P-Funk.’
Clinton was born on July 22,1941 in Kannapolis,North Carolina,he is regarded along with James Brown and Sly Stone as one of the foremost innovators of Funk music.
‘I hate water,let me go,put me down,you’re all wet.’
