THE 1000 BEST SONGS IN THE WORLD EVER.
205-Stevie Wonder-Superstition.
1973-Number 11 single.
Best Bit-At 0.11.Over the years I have heard many bands at functions totally murder this song, thankfully it hasn’t affected the way I still think about it.
The English guitarist Jeff Beck and Stevie Wonder(see also best songs 920-843-834-682-570 and 366) had an admiration for each others work and they collaborated on the early sessions of what was to become Wonder’s 1972 Album ‘Talking Book.’Wonder normally played nearly all of the instruments on his records but was always on the lookout for a top guitarist. The iconic opening drumbeat on this song was written by Beck with Wonder improvising over the top of it.
‘Superstition’ tells us not to believe in things that we have no proof exist.Doing things such as knocking on wood or not walking under ladders will only end up messing with your mind.
‘When you believe in things that you don’t understand then you suffer, superstition ain’t the way.’

THE 1000 BEST SONGS IN THE WORLD EVER.
206-Rod Stewart-You’re In My Heart(The Final Acclaim.)
1977-Number 3 single.
Best Bit-At 1.35.I have tried to locate which league Celtic United play in,but to no avail.
‘You’re In My Heart(The Final Acclaim’) is taken from Rod Stewart’s 1977 Album ‘Footloose And Fancy Free,’ it is the third Album after ‘Atlantic Crossing'(1975) and ‘A Night On The Town'(1976) to be critically recognised as Stewart’s career highs.
This song was written about Swedish actress Britt Ekland who Stuart was living with at the time. The lyrics ‘Beardsley prints’ is a reference to Aubrey Beardsley a Victorian artist.Stewart(see also best songs 965 and 565) has stated that Ekland taught him a great deal about art and visual presentation. The line ‘You’re Celtic,United, but baby I’ve decided you’re the best team I’ve ever seen,’is Stewart comparing his love for football to his love for Ekland.
‘The big bosom-ed lady with the Dutch accent who tried to change my point of view.’
