1977-Number 3 single.
Best Bit-At 1.35.I have tried to locate which league Celtic United play in,but to no avail.
‘You’re In My Heart(The Final Acclaim’) is taken from Rod Stewart’s 1977 Album ‘Footloose And Fancy Free,’ it is the third Album after ‘Atlantic Crossing'(1975) and ‘A Night On The Town'(1976) to be critically recognised as Stewart’s career highs.
This song was written about Swedish actress Britt Ekland who Stuart was living with at the time. The lyrics ‘Beardsley prints’ is a reference to Aubrey Beardsley a Victorian artist.Stewart(see also best songs 965 and 565) has stated that Ekland taught him a great deal about art and visual presentation. The line ‘You’re Celtic,United, but baby I’ve decided you’re the best team I’ve ever seen,’is Stewart comparing his love for football to his love for Ekland.
‘The big bosom-ed lady with the Dutch accent who tried to change my point of view.’
