‘One’ was written in 1991 for U2’s Achtung Baby Album with lyrics by Bono(see also best songs 766.)The song has been the subject of many different interpretations,but in 2005 Bono explained to Rolling Stone magazine,’It’s a father and son story.I tried to write about someone who was coming out and was afraid to tell his father.It’s a religious father and son,I have a lot of gay friends and I’ve seen them screwed up from unloving family situations.’
