Little Anthony and The Imperials were formed in the mid 1950’s in New York City starting out life as a Doo-Wop group.Two of the original line up still tour to this day,Ernest Wright and Jerome ‘Little Anthony’ Gourdine. 
They released their first hit single ‘Tears On My Pillow'(1958,Billboard Number 4) under the name of The Imperials but it was legendary American DJ Alan Freed who added the ‘Little Anthony.’
It was the popularity of Northern Soul music in the mid 1970’s which prompted the re-release and renewed interest in this song.
