If you are familiar with the work of KC and the Sunshine Band(see also best songs 893) then this song will already sound familiar.By 1979 Harry Casey and Richard Finch(this songs writers) of that band had already scored five Billboard Number 1’s, which leads you to think how big this song would have been had it been recorded by them instead.
Jimmy Horace Horne Jr. was born on September 28,1949 in West Beach,Florida,United States.Apart from this song he is also known for the disco song ‘Spank’ and the original version of ‘Gimme Some’ a UK hit for the band Brendan, also written by Casey and Finch.
In 2011 the song was sampled by CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera under the title ‘Nasty’ for the ‘Burlesque’ film soundtrack, but was never used because they couldn’t get sample clearance in time.In 2014 Pixie Lott released her version of ‘Nasty’ peaking at Number 9 in the UK.
