The genre of music that is known as Lovers Rock has nothing at all to do with Rock Music it is in fact a style of Reggae Music noted for its romantic sound and content.
Silly Games was written by Dennis Bovell who was born in Jamaica in 1953.He has spent most of his career collaborating with the Jamaican Reggae Poet Linton Kwesi Johnson,but has also been a successful producer for artists such as Madness,The Thompson Twins and Bananarama.
Janet Kay is from Willesden,North West London and has released nine studio Albums the latest of them in 2012.Silly Games is her only UK chart hit although in 1990 Beats International lead singer Lindy Layton took her version to Number 22 with Kay on backing vocals.
