Alice Cooper were an American Rock band formed in Phoenix,Arizona in 1964,until their split in 1974 they recorded seven studio Albums.When they split lead singer Vincent Furnier legally changed his name to Alice Cooper so that he could continue with the stage name for his solo career.
Cooper is recognised as being one of the forerunners in ‘Shock Rock,’his elaborate stage shows have been an influence on future Heavy Rock performers.
Teenage Lament 74 was co-written by Cooper and Alice Cooper drummer Neal Smith,it tells of a young boy working his way through adolescence with all the usual trials and tribulations.The song is also noteworthy for it’s female backing vocals which are provided by Liza Minnelli,The Pointer Sisters,Ronnie Spector and La Belle.
