The Kaiser Chiefs are an English Indie Rock band formed around Leeds and it’s surrounding areas in 2000.They took their name from the South African football club Kaizer Chiefs which was the previous team that ex-Leeds United captain Lucas Radebe had played for.
I Predict A Riot tells of the perils of being on the streets of Leeds late at night,although it could apply to any big city.The song thrives on it’s Yorkshire heritage with the use of pronouns such as ‘thee’ and ‘thou,’ words that are still in use to some extent in areas of Yorkshire to this day.
