The Mock Turtles were formed in 1985 in Middleton,Greater Manchester,they took their name from ‘The Mock Turtle’ that appears in ‘Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland’ written by Lewis Carroll.Their driving force was the bands co-founder Martin Coogan who is the brother of comedian Steve and television presenter Brendan.
To date ‘Can You Dig It’ is the bands one and only top 40 single,but it has charted on two separate occasions,latterly in 2003 when remixed by Fatboy Slim.
