The Moments and The Whatnauts were two separate bands both signed to the All Platinum record label owned by Sylvia and Joe Robinson(see also best songs 597 and 523.)
The Whatnauts were formed in 1969,originating from Baltimore,Maryland.There most successful song minus The Moments was the 1971 R&B Billboard Number 14 single ‘I’ll Erase Away Your Pain.’
The Moments were formed in 1965 in Washington DC,their lineup has changed many times over the years.In the UK they have achieved three top 10 singles,the other two were ‘Dolly My Love’ a 1975 Number 10 song and ‘Jack In The Box’ which peaked at Number 7 in 1977.
With a name change due to contractual reasons they achieved a Billboard Number 5 single with ‘Special Lady’ in 1979 using their new billing of ‘Ray,Goodman and Brown.
