Eloise was written by Paul Ryan(born 24.10.48,died 29.11.92) and sung by his twin brother Barry,they were born in Leeds,West Yorkshire.Their mother was the singer Marion Ryan whose chart success came in 1958 with the Number 5 single ‘Love Me Forever.’
Paul and Barry Ryan started their careers as a duo,charting five times in the top 40 between 1965-1966.Paul Ryan found that he was more comfortable out of the spotlight and concentrated on songwriting,two of his compositions appeared on Frank Sinatra’s 1971 Album ‘Sinatra & Company.’
In 1986 the Punk band The Damned took their version of Eloise to Number 3 in the UK top 40.
