Overnight Sensation was written by Raspberries lead vocalist Eric Carmen for their 4th and final Album ‘Starting Over.’Carmen went onto a very successful solo career with hits including ‘All By Myself’ and ‘Hungry Eyes’ from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack.
John Lennon a fan of the band was present at the recording of the Album and although not credited is rumored to have been involved in the mixing of ‘Overnight Sensation.’
An interesting fact that no one seems to have picked up on,Lennon was present for the recording of ‘Starting Over,’and in 1980 his final Album was called(Just Like)Starting Over.
‘I just want a hit record,yeah wanna hear it on the radio.’
