The 1000 best songs in the world ever.
669-Kay Starr-Comes A Long-Love.
1953-Number 1 single.
Best Bit-At 0.31 It’s the song people could Jive to while they were patiently waiting for Rock N Roll to be invented.
The song was the last hit written by ‘Tin Pan Alley’ songwriter Al Sherman.Sherman’s tune is derived from a violin melody from the final section of the overture to the Gioachino Rossini opera,Semiramide, these days they would call it sampling. In the UK the song became only the third ever Number 1 single in January 1953 of the then fledgling chart.
