Stargard were an American three piece female Funk band.The song was written by Norman Whitfield who in the 1960s was one of the main songwriters and producers at Tamla Motown,his hits there include I Heard It Through The Grapevine,Ain’t Too Proud To Beg and Papa Was A Rolling Stone.This song was the main theme from the soundtrack to the Richard Pryor movie Which Way Is Up.
